Boy's Own
Ed Tomlinson recalls how Boy's Own Started:
“Before the hey days of Boy's Own and Spectrum, the club that started the whole movement was a club called The Raid. Promoted by Paul Dennis and Gary Haisman, Dave Little was very much involved in the whole scene and fresh out design college was building a name for himself, bringing his unique style to designing single and LP record sleeves for some of the industries cooler bands and labels. He produced single and LP artwork for ground-breaking acts such as Bomb the Bass, Beatmasters, Renegade Sound Wave and S-Express.
At the very start when Boy's Own was just an idea, the inaugural group of Andy Weatherall, Terry Farley, Steve Maize & Cymon Eckles were introduced to a “crazy Geordie designer” who had been working with Gary Haisman on their club nights. Dave fondly recalls them all turning up at his flat saying “Are you that guy Dave Little? Can you do some design for the idea we have called Boy's Own? Over the next few years Dave Little, was an integral part of all things Boy's Own, creating logos, T- Shirts and record sleeves, giving Boy's Own its identity that has become the iconic stature it receives in today’s popular culture”.
